The holiday season is a time to reflect on the year gone by and gather strength for the year ahead. In 2023, Defence Construction Canada supported several major defence and security projects across the country. We’re proud of the dedicated, collaborative and innovative work we did with industry allies and Client-Partners to propel the Future Fighter Capability Project, Canadian Surface Combatant Project, and other important defence capability infrastructure programs.

We’ll bring these same qualities to all our efforts—big and small, internal and external—in 2024. Dedication, collaboration and innovation will remain our collective North Star, guiding us as organizational demands, industry challenges, defence needs and international events inevitably change.

The world’s defence and security environment is evolving. This year may have been particularly unsettling for many DCC employees who have friends and family members living in unstable regions. At home, our employees also contended with the uncertainty brought about by rising costs, supply chain delays, labour unrest, workplace changes, as well as natural forces such as floods and wildfires.

In the face of such pressures, we supported each other and remained steadfast in our duty to our Client-Partners and country. We’ll continue to do so in the year ahead.

In this spirit of resolve and solidarity, I wish you and your loved ones a joyous and restful holiday season, wherever and however you find yourself celebrating. And may the new year bring peace and happiness to us and to the world.
