DCC celebrates Black History Month
In honour of Black History Month, Defence Construction Canada (DCC) will be holding activities and learning opportunities throughout February to raise awareness of the contributions of members of the Black community to Canada.
"Black History Month is a time to celebrate and acknowledge the long and rich history of Black communities in Canada," said Juliet Woodfield, Vice-President, Finance & Human Resources, and Chief Financial Officer.
In line with the 2021 Black History Month theme "The Future is Now," DCC also affirms its commitment to inclusivity now and into the future. "We are working hard to ensure every employee feels they belong at DCC and is able to contribute with their authentic selves," Woodfield said.
Among other activities, DCC will be launching its new Diversity and Inclusion Book Club later this month with discussions of two books that focus on the Black experience in Canada.
