DCC has received Bronze-level certification in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program.

The certification acknowledges four years of work to build genuine, respectful relationships between DCC and Indigenous Peoples, businesses, and communities, and to make a productive contribution to reconciliation.

DCC is one of the few federal entities leading transformative change in the area of Indigenous relations and seeking verification through PAIR, which is administered by the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB). DCC joins a growing number of private sector construction and infrastructure firms to receive certification.

“DCC is very proud to have received Bronze certification,” said Grant Sayers, Vice-President, Operations, Business Management. “And, we remain dedicated to continuous learning, purposeful engagement, and creating real opportunities for Indigenous participation.”

DCC consistently exceeds the federal government’s target for procurement with Indigenous businesses and supports the groundbreaking work of the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces to enhance Indigenous relations and participation on Canada’s West Coast. DCC has also developed an Indigenous Relations Policy, created an Indigenous student bursary program and implemented organization-wide cultural awareness training.

Derrick Cheung, President and CEO, Marie-Josée Lacombe, Vice-President, Finance and Human Resources, and CFO, and Joel Fisher, Regional Service Line Leader, Contract Services (Head Office), accepted the plaque for the Bronze certification at a CCIB event on October 8, 2025, in Vancouver.

The event brought together Indigenous entrepreneurs, business leaders and allies to celebrate organizations’ progress toward reconciliation and Indigenous engagement. It was also an excellent opportunity to network with Indigenous businesses interested in doing work with DCC.
